Marmion Academy 4, Sycamore 2: The Cadets bounced back from an early 2-0 deficit to beat the Spartans in a nonconference match in Aurora. Mike Frasca led Marmion (5-2-3) with a pair of goals while Mick Maley and Joe Romanos each added a goal and an assist. Romanos put the Cadets ahead for good in the 75th minute while Frasca added the final score in the 78th minute, off an assist from Romanos. Geneva 2, Lincoln-Way East 1: Brady Wahl had a goal and an assist for the Vikings (3-3-1) in second-round play of the Pepsi Showdown. Andrew Walton also scored for Geneva and Craig Hancock assisted on Wahl's goal. The Vikings are 2-0 in the tournament, having also beaten Fenwick, and they'll take on Lane Tech in third-round play at Lyons Township on Saturday.
Bartlett 1, Marist 0: Bartlett improved to 4-0 on the year, beating Marist on a Tony Paredes goal in the first half of play, and a feed from Charlie Sordini. Bartlett is now 2-0 in Pepsi Showdown play, including Tuesday's 4-2 win over New Trier, and will take on Mount Carmel on Saturday at Lyons Township. "Alex Busch is our player of the game," Bartlett coach Ben Beary said of his senior goalkeeper. "He finished with six big saves, including 3 huge saves in the first 20 minutes of the game when Marist had their best chances to score."
Downers Grove North 3, Wheaton Warrenville South 2: The Trojans (7-0-1) came back from a two-goal, first-half deficit on two goals from Jake Mousel, who now has 3 goals on the season. Assisting on the goals were Thomas Budnik and Reid Melton. The Trojans were perfect in penalty kicks with scores from Paul hogan, AJ Jeffries, Reid Melton and Stu Melton. Goalie Matt Paprocki made two saves to seal the victory. The Trojans enter Saturday's game against Maine South with a 2-0 record in Pepsi Showdown play, while WW South (3-3-1) is 1-1 in tournament play heading into their Saturday game against Whitney Young.
Jesuit (Carmichael, CA) 2, Neuqua Valley 1: Neuqua trailed 2-0 at halftime and got a top-shelf performance from goalkeeper Hunter Hollingshead, who made 15 saves on the night. Will Butler scored for Neuqua Valley (5-2-1) on a Patrick Doody assist in the game's 50th minute. "The best high school game I've seen this year," Neuqua coach Tony Kees said. -- Eddie Burns

Lyons Township 3, Loyola Academy 2: The Lions (5-0-2) improved to 2-0 in Pepsi Showdown play, getting a pair of goals from Horacio Sanchez and one from Brett Heimerdinger in the victory. Kyle Kurfirst, David Ellis, and Peter Gabrek chipped in assists on the night, and LT takes on West Chicago on Saturday in LaGrange.
Larkin 4, Metea Valley 3: Ryan Solomon scored twice, Chris Freeman finished on a goal, and Zack Bavol had a pair of assists as the Mustangs (3-4) fell to Larkin in a goal scored in the second overtime of their Pepsi Showdown contest. Metea is 1-1 in Pepsi play and will take on Wheaton Academy on Saturday at Lyons Township.
Crystal Lake South 4, Huntley 0: The Gators (5-1-1, 4-0 in FVC play) got four second-half goals from Alex Tapia, Mike Hernandez, Devon Ross, and Charlie Oliver at Huntley (2-5-1). Trevor Bittenbender had two assists for CL South, with one each from Hernandez, Oliver, and Matt Biederwolf. Gators goalkeeper David Walsh made 4 saves in helping his squad to its third consecutive shutout and fourth on the season.
